As we continue to pray and seek God’s leading and grace for this building project He continues to lead me back to Nehemiah.

After Nehemiah had surveyed the wall, and saw what was required (conducted a needs assessment) he addressed the people:

“I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me. They replied, ‘Let us start rebuilding.’ So they began this good work.”

I think the lesson that God is wanting us to learn is that this building project, just like the wall in Nehemiah’s day is impossible without two things: First, His Gracious hand, and second, the unified response of all the people.

I don’t profess to understand the interplay of how God’s sovereignty and our obedience intersect but I am convinced from Scripture that both are necessary for an undertaking such as this building.

The people replied to Nehemiah…and they began the good work.

I want to thank you for your replies to date and encourage you to keep “replying”. Continue to dialogue with the building team, and continue to be seeking God as we all continue in this good work.

The results of the Needs Assessment will be published in February once all the information has been collated.

On behalf of the building team
