An encouraging month

June 2019

May has been such an encouraging month.  God has spoken both publicly & privately, collectively & individually,  calling, nudging and directing us to keep in step with Him and all He has planned for us.  Whatever God is asking us to do, He is intending to do with us.

Nehemiah knew the “secret to success” was not in his own ability, intelligence, or influence. He was a cupbearer, checking the king’s drink for poison- expendable in the king’s sight. Nehemiah’s dependance was on the attentive ear of God and his faith that God could and would undertake in supernatural ways to see His purposes affected.

Nehemiah 1:11 (NLT)

11 O Lord, please hear my prayer! Listen to the prayers of those of us who delight in honoring you. Please grant me success today by making the king favorable to me. Put it into his heart to be kind to me.” In those days I was the king’s cup-bearer.

God is so attentive to our prayers and goes before us in all things including this building project. Our meeting with Waikato District Council on May 10th could not have gone better. We have Council’s support in principle for us to pursue our proposed changes to road alignment, parking and traffic flow in Martin Lane. Council could have been very obstructive, or simply neutral stating the rules, however they were solutions focused and even gave suggestions how we might overcome some difficulties. WOW! Thank you God for granting us success and making “the king” favourable to us. This is the first step in a long process, but a significant step in the right direction and we move forward with confidence in God to lead us through.

We continue to work with the architects, planners, traffic engineers, environmental engineers, council and other professionals to further refine size, shape, location and detail of the new building and required infrastructure. The Elders continue to seek God’s wisdom and His specific strategy for us to walk in for the finance of the building.

We are grateful for your ongoing prayer for this project and the future God is calling us into.
